Otter's Story

Meet Otter! A playful, lovable goofball who’s guaranteed to make a splash in your life. Just like his namesake, Otter is full of joy, curiosity, and silly antics that keep everyone around him smiling. Whether he’s bouncing around or showing off his signature big, dramatic play bows, he knows how to have a good time and bring others along for the fun.

Otter is friendly, confident, and full of energy, but he also has a sweet and affectionate side that shines through. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys both his independence and his cuddle time, making him a great companion for an active home.

He has done well spending time outside near other dogs. We do not recommend a home with cats for Otter.
He has recently been a very good friend to another dog, Melody, who needs help coming out of her shell. He is very gentle and sweet with her and provides encouragement and confidence.

Otter enjoys all kinds of toys, peanut butter Kongs, tasty treats, and plenty of exercise to keep him happy and fulfilled. He’s always ready to dive into his next adventure.

If you’re looking for a dog who will keep life lighthearted, active, and full of laughter, Otter is ready to swim right into your heart.

Age: 1.5 years
Weight: 100 pounds
Other Dogs: Does well with dogs in adjacent yards, has been friendly walking with others
Cats: Nope!
Kids: Presumed to do well, may knock over
Home Type: active home, needs plenty of exercise
Leash Behavior: working on loose leash training
Commands: sit, come, working with volunteers

If you are interested in adopting Otter please fill out our online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org.
