Otis's Story

Hi, I'm Otis!

I am a 10-year-old, 13 lb, mixed breed, certified cuddle bug. I'm possibly a long haired "chiweenie" because I appear to have some dachshund in me and the vet said my ears reminded her of a corgi. I'm thinking maybe some terrier as well (more evident when I had some hair), but my hair was so matted that the shelter had to give me a close shave. I don't even look like the same dog!

I was found as a stray and my foster moms can't figure out why anyone would have given me up. I am housetrained, walk well on a leash, and am happiest when I'm in my person's lap. I would love to find a person who is home a lot because I just love being with people. I enjoy sitting beside my foster moms on the sofa, or more often I'm in their laps. If you don't mind me sleeping with you, I would gladly cuddle all night. However, I am working on my crate training at night and when my foster moms are away. Because I was a stray for a while, I really just want to feel secure, knowing my people are there with me and won't abandon me again.

The rescue describes me as docile because after two vaccines and a nail trim I still wanted to sit in the rescue lady's lap! I'm not going to pass up some lap time no matter what the lady did to me!

My foster moms have a senior cat and I have been nothing but respectful. I am curious about her sometimes and do try to say hi. She has hissed at me a couple of times, but I just give her space. Mostly, we do our own thing. When we're together in the same room and are both getting treats, I don't try to take hers. I also haven't ever tried to take my foster mom's food either. I am a gentleman after all!

The vet said I look good for my age and I got a clean bill of health...with exception of my teeth, but I will be getting a dental on February 18th. I have a good appetite and am currently on a soft food diet, which is better for my teeth right now.

If you're looking for a sweet cuddle bug to join your family, then please consider adopting me.

All Good Dogs Rescue's Adoption Policy
We do not have a first come first serve policy, but rather seek to match dogs to the right person. We do not adopt to people who will keep their dogs outside, or who are not willing to provide standard medical care. We start with an application, moving on to a video chat. If that goes well we move on to an in person meeting with adopters current dogs in attendance. If they want to move forward we do a brief virtual home visit before the adoption.
