Otis's Story

Meet Otis! Otis was purchased on akcpuppyfinder.com, posed as a 4 month old Wheaten Terrier. This welcomed this new family member into their home, only to be completely scammed. Otis is actually 1 years old, 18 lbs, and is breed is in question. Although breed and age ultimately do not matter, the family quickly came to find out this poor dog was completely unsocialized and neglected his whole life. I was connected to this family to get them some help and went over to meet him to access what was going on. I met Otis and could immediately tell he was unsocialized. Riddled in fear and insecurity, he stood far away from me barking and never approached. My immediate reaction was sorrow for this dog that he had been treated this way and now is living in a state or fear, not understanding that I am there to love and help him. He has been with the family a week and is coming around! He loves to cuddle and give kisses. He is now following the mother around everywhere, and beginning to play with toys! He loves to run around in the yard and we are really starting to see that happy-go lucky dog in there! Otis has not known what love is but we are beginning to see the sweet doggie he is with a little TLC! I see a dog that wants to be loved and share his love. But we need the right person to help give him the confidence in social situations. He would be such a great companion doggie for someone who truly wants to help give this doggie the life he deserves.

We are looking for a patient and experienced person with dogs that need work with socializing. We need a home with no children and more of a homebody that can more quietly work on his socialization, instead of a home with triggers that provoke his fear and anxiety. If you think you can open your heart to this angel please reach out to me at adopt@rescuebae.com.
