Otis Beagle Bethel, CT

Meet Otis, an adorable 10-year-old, 17 lb. beagle with soulful eyes and a big heart. This sweet boy has lived his entire life outdoors with one job and purpose, to hunt. He never knew affection or human touch…that was until recently when he was rescued. He came into the shelter very skinny so he’s currently trying to put on weight and his nails were so long, they were curled under. His body and soul are now ready to heal and this boy will know nothing but love, warmth, and a cozy bed for the remainder of his golden years!

Like any typical beagle, Otis is led by his nose and has a sense for adventure! He is a happy-go-lucky pup who loves to sniff and wag his tail. He appreciates a slow and patient approach and finally realizes just how wonderful pets are. Being that he’s a senior, Otis enjoys snoozing in the afternoon sun or quietly perusing the house or yard. He LOVES other dogs and would be happiest in a home with a furry friend and one with a fenced yard to keep him safe to explore. He is house trained and enjoys chomping on snow when outside. Otis is ready to live out his retirement years in a caring and loving home.

His adoption fee is $400 and Otis is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. He also qualifies for our Senior-to-Senior program so if you're 60 years or older, you can adopt Otis for $250.
