Otis's Story

Meet Otis! Otis was transferred to us from one of our shelter partners with an extensive leg injury, but with the help of our transfer partner and our isolation team he has recovered quite well! Otis is positive with Lyme disease and while not curable it is manageable. He is currently taking his medication to help but we would stress the importance of flea and tick preventatives for all animals. Despite all of this he had an amazing recovery and absolutely came out of his shell. He loves long walks and kicking/rolling in the grass. He very politely roughhouses with you and loves his kongs. He can be a little weary of new people and dogs so we are requiring a 6+ year age restriction and a dog introduction with any resident dog to ensure everyone will be best friends. Slow introductions for him will be key to make sure he stays comfortable and confident. If you think this sweet boy is the one for you a kennel technician will be happy to help!
