Otis's Story

Meet Otis!

***This pets adoption fee has been sponsored, meaning there is no cost to adopt them from us!***

He is estimated to be between 2-4yrs old.

This handsome boy is looking for a new forever home!

Otis is apart of a hoarding case we recently took on where there were about 30 Husky mixes living in one home in Holland, Michigan. Unfortunately the owner passed away, and prior to his passing he suffered from some physical and mental health issues that made it difficult for him to pick up after so many dogs and he struggled to give them away when they were puppies as he didn’t want to separate the moms from their babies. Otis’s former owner truly loved all of the dogs in his care, and they all loved him.

These pups are not your typical “Hoarding” case dogs as they are all very sweet, well mannered and well behaved, they are crate trained, they know some basic commands, and they understand the concept of potty training! (Although we never guarantee that a pup will not have accidents going into a new environment)

Otis is fixed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm negative and started on preventatives! Due to the poor ventilation in the home that Otis came from, he developed a deep raspy cough that was initially quite concerning. However, with time, proper ventilation, and good nutrition, his Cough has been improving substantially and is almost completely gone now, unless he gets excited, so we do believe his lungs can fully recover from this on their own with time!

He is good with other dogs (we would recommend a home with female dogs) and is good with kids. However we do not believe he is good with cats and would chase them.

To inquire about adopting this very sweet boy, please email us or follow the prompts through petfinder to fill out an application.

For EVERY adoption we require an approved application (which includes a vet reference), a meet and greet with the potential adopters current dogs/children/family members, submission of pictures of the applicants home and yard, a contract signing, and an adoption fee. The adoption is finalized usually after the meet and greet (which usually only takes 30mins). We do offer Foster-to-adopt scenarios for some adoptions that we want to make sure are going to work out before finalizing things!
