Oswald's Story

Oswald is a two year old Chihuahua mix, though the mix is a bit of a mystery. We believed both his parents were Chihuahuas, but he is more than double his parents size (fully grown), and his coloring could suggest part husky? But you're welcome to do a DNA test to find out more, if you would like.

Oswald is very loyal, but definitely takes time to warm up to people. He's an important reminder of the 3-3-3 rule, so don't be surprised if he's skittish and afraid when he first meets you.

Once he knows he can trust you, though, Oswald loves to be in someone's arms, or at least as close as he can. Every time I am out in the yard he positively jumps for joy, zooming around, finding sticks and bones to carry around with him and pounce on.

In public he's quite good on a leash, but still needs some work being truly comfortable. I believe that, once he knows he can trust you he will, given time, grow to feel more at ease. For now, though, we tend to keep a little space while talking with people we meet on the path.

Once back home, though, Oswald is all about play, and affection, and climbing up into his person's arms.

If you're the kind of person who is looking for a solo, fun, dog who wants to greet you and with whom you can be patient about slowly getting to know, then fill out an application for Oswald today at https://k-9elite.dog/adoption-application/ and we'll set up a time to meet this sweet boy!

An adoption contract must then be completed and may, in some cases, include requirements for a future spay/neuter.
