Ostentatia Wallace's Story

Ostentatia Wallace is a gentle, thoughtful soul who has quietly mastered the art of being an excellent house companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, she is fully house trained, non-destructive, and respectful of her surroundings—no counter surfing, no table begging, and no mischief when left alone. She crates well (with just a short moment to settle) and is incredibly easy to live with, making her the kind of dog who quickly feels like she’s always belonged.

This smart girl is eager to please and very attentive to her people. She enjoys being near her humans, soaking up affection and attention, and loves being handled and petted. While she’s not a fan of being picked up (she’s a sturdy 60 lbs, after all!), she shows her affection by staying close and being a calm, loving presence. She already knows “sit” and, with her intelligence and willingness to learn, she has so much potential to pick up more cues and confidence-building skills.

Outdoors, Ostentatia enjoys exploring and taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She isn’t particularly toy-motivated or fetch-focused, preferring relaxed romps and sniffing adventures. On leash, she can be reactive when she sees other dogs or people, and this behavior appears to be fear-based, likely due to limited leash experience earlier in life. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she has every chance to make progress and feel more secure on walks.

At home, Ostentatia shines brightest. She naps comfortably during the day, sleeps well in her crate at night (though she’d happily trade that for a spot in bed someday), and settles beautifully into a routine. She does best with older kids and teens (13+), and while her experience with cats is unknown, her overall demeanor is calm and affectionate. Ostentatia Wallace is a truly good girl—steady, loving, and ready for a home that will continue to help her grow in confidence while appreciating the wonderful dog she already is.

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs.
