Oscar's Story
🐾 Adopt Oscar 🐾

Oscar is a handsome 2-year-old German Shepherd rescued from the South LA shelter last month. He arrived very stressed, but with time and consistency he has made great progress and is becoming much calmer and more settled.

Oscar is a sensitive, intelligent boy who does best with calm, confident, and experienced handlers—ideally someone familiar with shepherds. He can become anxious if things feel rushed, so he thrives with patience, structure, and a handler willing to build trust at his pace. As that trust grows, he relaxes and handling becomes much easier, showing what a great companion he can be for someone!

He can be nervous and vocal when meeting new people and prefers slow, respectful introductions (as we all do). Oscar likes space to observe first rather than immediate interaction. He’s made progress with crate training and will come with a free training session to help his new person continue his success.

Around other dogs, Oscar is mostly avoidant but is learning appropriate greetings and improving with practice. In the right home, Oscar has so much potential to be a loyal, devoted companion.
