Oscar's Story
Content to lounge on his big foam bed for most of the day, Oscar would make a nice companion for a less-than-active person. Dumped and left with a garbage can for shelter, his companion had been killed on the road. With lots of help, he was finally out of the cold, volunteers call him “the sweetest of hounds”. He insists on giving you his paw to hold even though it is a twisted mess. Estimated to be between 6 and 7 years old -- an "adult" on the cusp of being called a senior, Oscar needs to be a bit healthier to withstand the fusion-surgery on his left front leg so that he can live a more pain-free life. Still, Oscar has been a champ about walking on leash, never letting his impediment stop him from enjoying his walks. (You can visit the Angel Ridge facebook page or website to donate for Oscar’s surgery). He has gained weight since his initial intake weight at 67 lbs. Not a big fan of other dogs, Oscar tries to ignore them outside and is quite happy to be the solo dog in a home.

You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.

Link to application: https://www.angelridgeanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Dog-Application.pdf
