Orion's Story

Orion's Story of Hope

Orion's journey is one of resilience, patience, never giving up. He came to the shelter as a stray and was scared of absolutely everything - of people, loud noises, collars and leashes - anything new and unfamiliar. Shelter staff and volunteers worked with him, slowly gaining his trust and finding the way to his heart (the secret is patience....and yummy treats!). Step by step, he made progress...each step a big win - getting a collar on him...then a leash...and out of his kennel and going on walks.

Orion has come such a long way...he now happily and eagerly goes for walks and rides well in a car. He's still learning and still making progress but he's no longer the terrified dog who first arrived at the shelter. He's becoming the dog he's always had the potential to be.

Who Orion Is...
Orion is approximately 2 years old, mixed breed, and about 60 pounds. He is gentle and sweet. He can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does he is incredibly affectionate and loyal.

Orion's Ideal Home
Orions perfect home is one of patience and understanding. He has come such a long way and has so much potential, just needs to take things at his own pace. He is absolutely worth every moment invested in him. Orion is ready to find his forever home where he can continue to grow into the dog he was born to be.

If you would like to meet Orion, please fill out an application at:

https://ochumane.org/adoption-form/

Filling out an application does not commit you to adopting, it will let us know you are interested (if you hit the inquiry button, it just sends us a generic email). Shelter staff will review your application and reach out to answer any questions and schedule a meet and greet.
