Oriola's Story

Oriola is one of six orphaned puppies that have joined our Connecticut Rescue. At just 8 months old, she is a spirited love bug with energy to burn! This cutie has a gentle temperament and playful, friendly personality. Despite the chaotic shelter process, she has weathered the storm and shows no obvious signs of trauma or neglect.

It appears that the pups’ owner unwittingly facilitated an accidental breeding of her unaltered adult housemates, and then was overwhelmed by puppy love. She offloaded the puppies to a high kill rural North Carolina Shelter, and we were able to transport them to our place in Canterbury, Connecticut.

We have had Oriola DNA tested, and she is a diverse mix of breeds: Australian Cattle Dog, Beagle and Chihuahua, along with an inexplicable dose of Poodle.

Her weight range is projected at 20 to 30 pounds, and Oriola currently weighs 18 pounds. Her working roots suggest that adopters should be prepared to provide a lot of exercise and mental stimulation.

Oriola would be an excellent choice for a savvy Working Breed adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. She has taken well to basic puppy Positive Reinforcement training techniques, and seems to enjoy the learning process. We seek adopters willing to raise them as Canine Good Citizens.

Oriola could easily join a multi-dog home with older, playful dogs tolerant of puppy energy. She would thrive with an active single, couple or family with older kids who have been taught to be gentle with young dogs.

Oriola is in excellent health, fully vaccinated and dewormed. If you are interested in her, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
