OREO CHEESECAKE's Story
Currently located in: TN, headed up north the weekend of December 27th!
Adoptable in: All continental 48 United States (transport is available anywhere!)
Good with dogs: Yes, as always, slow introductions when bringing a new dog into your pack.
Good with cats: He just wants to play with them, but we think he can learn to be kitty-wise.
Good with kids: Yes!
House trained: No, but working hard! Puppies will have accidents and need constant reminders and training!
Crate trained: Yes, still working on mastering this but doing very well!

Meet Oreo Cheesecake!

Oreo is a sweet, resilient puppy who’s already shown just how much love and potential he has. He was found dumped outside with his mama on a cold morning, unsure of people at first—but the chill quickly convinced him that humans aren’t so bad after all. Before long, he was snuggled inside his new foster’s jacket, fast asleep and safe.

Oreo is an unknown medium-to-large mixed breed; his mama is a black-and-tan medium sized girl. He’ll be about 13 weeks old at Christmas, and he’s very much in his curious, growing, puppy-learning-about-the-world stage.

Despite a tough start, Oreo has made wonderful progress in foster care. He’s come a long way with crate training—while he didn’t love it at first, eating his meals as food puzzles in the crate has helped him build a positive association, and he’s improving every day.

Oreo has shown himself to be a friendly, social pup. He did great meeting a senior dog up close—he’ll need to keep working on polite puppy manners, but there was no aggression at all. With cats, Oreo is enthusiastic but he just wants to play and doesn’t yet understand that chasing is scary. With guidance and continued training, we believe he can learn the manners needed to live peacefully with cats.

This little guy is extremely food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. Scatter tiny treat morsels around and he’ll happily spend an hour sniffing them out. Even though his foster had no experience with dog training, Oreo has already learned “sit,” “down,” to look at you when you say his name (“Oreo”), and “come.” He’s also working on potty training and knows to expect a reward when he goes outside—he’s getting there!

Oreo is wonderful with kids. Since he’s been hand-fed in foster care, he knows how to be gentle, especially when his puppy energy isn’t overflowing. Like any young pup, he’ll need continued structure, patience, and positive reinforcement.

Oreo is still very much a baby and will need ongoing socialization and confidence-building—learning that the world is a safe and exciting place, meeting new people and dogs, and exploring new environments at his own pace.

If you’re ready to guide a smart, affectionate puppy as he grows into the best dog he can be, Oreo is ready to curl up in your jacket—and your heart. 🖤🤍

If you think you are the right match for Oreo, please apply to adopt here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScq8ShXPVGLfrGHlIYMk0plgI_PJxOEMdr8QItpQMXYCnluvg/viewform

The adoption fee is $550.

All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their fur-ever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped!

Please Note: All animals are posted until they are officially adopted. This animal may have other interested adopters in line.

We are very quick to respond and process applications! You will be required to provide 2 non-family personal references, a home video tour, and a vet reference if you’ve previously had animals.

Please feel free to send a video to our email or Facebook upon submitting an application; this lets us know you are serious and ready but also helps us to get you approved quickly. We will text and or call upon receiving your application to schedule a phone interview.

You must be an approved adopter to go on meet and greets. This saves everyone’s time- especially our gracious foster families! This also allows for you to take the animals home from the meet and greet if you so choose.

Interested in fostering? We would love to have you join our family! Fill out the same application above- we have our fosters go through the same process as adopters!

Questions?
