Oreo's Story
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Meet Oreo!

This sweet 2.5 year old, 25 pound beauty is looking for her forever home and she's ready to be your shadow! We have no idea what breed mix she is. Old paperwork says Chihuahua mix but we definitely don’t see any of that in her! An online program suggested Havanese/Schnauzer mix. You might have fun doing a DNA test after adoption!

She has soft, fluffy fur (see before pictures), which we had to shave due to matting.

Oreo and her sister were surrendered together when their owner realized two active dogs were more than she could handle. Oreo came in matted with skin/ear infections, but after a fresh groom and some TLC, she is thriving and her happy personality is shining through.

She is fine without her sister and we feel she will actually do better without her and would do better with a new confident companion in her new home.

Oreo is a medium Velcro dog — she wants to know where you are, loves soaking up attention, and will happily chase a ball or play with toys. She is good at playing fetch!

She does wonderfully in her foster home alongside five other dogs and settles in nicely at night in her pen.

She's also housetrained when kept on a regular schedule, which will make the transition to a new home that much smoother.

Because she missed out on early socialization, Oreo is nervous in new situations and will need a patient adopter who gives her time to decompress and feel safe.

Since she can be a bit nervous, she would be better in a home with older, calmer children instead of hyperactive little ones.

A secure leash when out and fenced yard are a must, especially early on.

She'll also need a confident canine companion to help build her confidence.

As a lower shedding mix prone to matting, Oreo will need regular grooming and routine ear cleaning to stay healthy and comfortable.

With the right home, regular exercise, new adventures, and maybe a training class or two, Oreo will blossom into an incredibly loving companion.

Oreo is already spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped

She has not been cat tested. The only time she really barks is when she sees a deer or squirrel (she joins in when the other dogs are barking)

Adoption donation $350.

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.
