Ophelia's Story
Meet Ophelia!

4 years
14 lbs
Female spayed

Ophelia is a gentle, affectionate Pomeranian who arrived from an overcrowded shelter in Mississippi and is now eagerly seeking a permanent home.

This darling girl is past the chaotic puppy stage but still possesses plenty of playfulness and love to offer, making her an ideal companion. Her favorite things in life are warm laps, soft beds, and the company of adoring humans, and she has already chosen her favorite person at her foster home—a teenage girl she shadows constantly.

Though she is still working on potty training, which her foster parents believe the Illinois cold may be contributing to, she is eager to learn and adapt to being part of a real family. Her rear half was shaved due to severe matting upon arrival, but her beautiful coat is expected to grow back in no time.

Interested in adopting? If your application is selected, we will contact you for a phone interview. From there, we’d schedule a meet and greet with the dog to make sure it is a great fit for adoption for the whole family and any other dogs in your home.

Questions about adoption?
