Opall's Story
Opal is thriving in her foster home and ready for her forever family. Once shy, she's blossomed into a loving, affectionate pup who greets her people with a wagging tail and happy wiggle butt. She loves back scratches, snuggling, and playing with her stuffed toys-especially tug-of-war and learning fetch.

Opal walks very well on a leash and enjoys walks up to a mile. A fenced yard would be ideal so she can zoom and show off her speed. She plays well with other small dogs but is timid around larger, high-energy dogs. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.

She is crate trained and does well using potty pads in her crate during the workday and overnight, but she potties reliably outside and hasn't had accidents out of the kennel recently. With a little reinforcement to help her signal when she needs to go out, she's doing great with potty training. While crate trained, Opal would much prefer sleeping in bed with her human.

Opal has a special need and must be fed upright and held upright for about 15 minutes after meals-a routine she enjoys and that has become sweet bonding time. A slow feeder is recommended due to fast eating and mild reflux concerns.

Gentle, loyal, and full of love, Opal is looking for a home ready to hold her close and cherish her as the wonderful companion she is.
