Opal's Story

We are delighted to introduce a truly special dog who is patiently waiting to find her perfect forever home: the wonderful Opal! Opal is a charming and incredibly resilient 6-year-old Cockapoo. She may have applications in progress, but is currently available.

Opal recently retired from her previous life as a breeding dog, and while she's navigated many changes with grace, she is now ready to discover the comforts and joys of being a cherished family pet. Due to her background, Opal may initially be a little shy or unfamiliar with typical household routines and sounds.

What Opal needs most is a profoundly patient and understanding family who can provide a quiet, consistent environment as she learns to trust and explore her new world. We have observed that she thrives with the company of other dogs, and therefore, we are ideally seeking a home that already includes a calm, friendly canine companion. Another dog's gentle presence can be an immense source of comfort and a wonderful guide for Opal as she builds confidence and learns what it means to be part of a loving household.

Opening your home to Opal means offering her the time and space she needs to blossom, and in return, you will gain a devoted and loving companion whose sweet nature is truly captivating. If you believe your heart and home (especially with a canine friend!) are ready to welcome a dog like Opal and provide her with the gentle transition she deserves, please reach out. We would be thrilled to discuss her needs further and share more about this lovely girl. Opal will require a fenced in yard, as new humans can be scary and she would be an escape risk off leash.

Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.

STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
