Onyx's estimated birth year: 2013<br/><br/>This beautiful senior girl, Onyx, was heartbreakingly abandoned by the only family she’s ever known—left behind at a boarding facility and never picked up. At an age when she should be curled up on a warm bed, feeling safe and loved, Onyx is instead wondering what she did wrong. No senior deserves this kind of loss, especially one as gentle and devoted as she is.<br/><br/>Onyx is wonderful with other dogs, kind with people of all ages, and even sweet with the office cats. But because this is a kennel and a business, she spends her days alone in a run, waiting… watching… only finding a little comfort at night when she’s allowed to sleep near the facility’s kitties.<br/><br/>Her heart is breaking, and so is ours. Please—will someone open their home and heart to adopt Onyx and give her the love, dignity, and peace she deserves in her golden years?<br/><br/>All dogs we rescue stay with us until they find their forever homes. We do not do same-day adoptions. A home visit is required to ensure our dog is going to a safe environment and our dog gets along with your dog(s) and/or cat(s). We require all our dogs over the age of 1 year attend 1 obedience class (6-week session) outside the home. You must live within 1 hour of Birmingham, MI, to adopt one of our dogs. No out-of-state or outside the U.S. adoptions or fosters.
