Onyx's Story
Onyx Update! Onyx moved into a foster home a few weeks ago - and he is just the BEST BOY ever! Onyx loves being in a home, and really does have the best manners. He's still very young, and is learning how to play nicely with toys - he mostly destroys them, and can be a bit mouthy at times, especially when playing his favorite game - Tug. He's a very strong boy, but seems to know his limits a bit. He also knows what are his toys, and what are human things - he hasn't chewed on anything that isn't made for him, including shoes, toys, or other things he finds laying around. Only his toys/bones. He is a big fan of peanut butter kongs!

He will lean into you, every chance he gets! He loves people - all people - anyone who comes over is his instant best friend. He plays nicely with the other dogs in his foster home, and loves to chase the cat. He is not aggressive in any way with the cat, but loves to chase him.

He doesn't jump, counter surf, and only has to be told NO one time. He quickly learned the garbage and recycling cans are off limits, and hasn't bothered them since. He was told he couldn't sit in one chair - and didn't try a second time. He really is the BEST BOY. He will however hop in the shower with you, if you aren't looking - and I suspect he would LOVE the water/lake/camping.

He is currently on a tie out at his foster home, and doesn't pull, tug, or try to chase anyone who walks by. He will bark to say hello, but when he's told to stop, he does. He won't try to run through the door every time you open it - but if its left open - he is happy to go through it and explore. When he went into the garage, he was told to stop and come, and he responded quickly and appropriately. Did I mention he is the BEST BOY ever?

He knows all basic commands, and generally does them on the first ask. Sometimes excitement will get in the way, and he may need to be asked a second time, but its rare.

Onyx is going to make a great addition to any family. He is ready for his furever home - are you ready for him? Also - Onyx is 100% potty trained, with no accidents coming into his foster home.

Meet Onyx a handsome 1-year-old Black Lab mix with a bright future ahead of him! Onyx just completed a stay and train to learn the basics. He will thrive in a home with a confident and committed owner who can continue his training and give him the structure he needs. Onyx will require a home with a fully fenced in yard that is least 6 feet high, as he has lots of energy and loves to run and play outdoors. He is a smart, eager boy who wants to please, and with the right guidance he'll make an incredible companion. If you are looking for a loyal loving dog with tons of potential, Onyx might be your perfect match.

If you would like to meet Onyx, please email Bethany at bethany.bertsch@gmail.com

Adoption Fee $500.00 (no Checks)
