UPDATED PHOTIS 02/20/2026! Hi! My name is Onyx! I'm 9.5 years old female tricolor beagle. I'm such a sweet & easygoing girl! I'm very sociable, although I don't really like my picture taken. LOL I need a new home because my person died. I lived with Snoopy & Buster. We're all looking for a home, but we're totally fine going to separate homes. It's been a really, really tough past few months! Our person had to go to the hospital/rehab about 2.5 months ago, & so family would come & check on us about 3 times a day. Then our person passed away. So it's just been been really, really hard. I'm very loving & affectionate! I'm also attentive to my person. I'm a happy & confident girl! Our person used to have parties & lots of people would come & I was great! I loved all the attention when people would come! I used to sleep in bed with my person. I like to play with stuffed toys & make them squeak! :) I don't like it when the other dogs get into my food - which is totally fair! I will guard people eating from the other dogs. I'm housetrained. When I need to go outside, I will look at you, & I might paw you. With my person being gone so long, we all started having accidents in the house. So I may need a bit of a refresher on that. I know how to use a doggie door! I'm quite smart! I do have a partial ACL tear. But that doesn't stop me from doing anything! Sometimes I feel a little sore, & so I'll get some carprofen. Not all the time - I just need it occasionally. I will snap at the other dogs if they jump on my legs & they're hurting that day. But all in all, I'm a pretty laid back, easygoing dog! I'm up-to-date on vaccines & spayed. Please think about giving me a forever home! I just really need somebody to love me! Kennel License #4068

Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
