Ollie's Story
Ollie is a year old Border Collie / Shepherd mix (confirmed via DNA) who is looking for a forever family. He is a lovely boy who comes from a very loving family who has had him since 12 weeks of age and unfortunately have had a health change with one of the members that is necessitating rehoming of Ollie.

In his current home kids and mom have spent many hours chasing him and playing tag, ball play and stick throw. He is interactive and outsmarts them when playing tag. He is housebroken, knows sit, come and place. He settles well at mom's feet when she works, as long as he has had a walk and or run outside. He
was crate trained as a pup however not transition to the larger now he does not want to go in. If this was a necessity in his new home he could easily be retrained as he is super food motivated with the right treat. He is gentle around children but wants to herd them, so knock downs happen if he rus too closely. This has only occurred with a couple toddlers who visited, older children have no issues.

Ollie is currently good with a 5 foot fence and never tries to go out when he is with his family members. However, he did find a hole in the fence and decided to let himself out for a while when he was left alone in the back yard. Ollie is tenuous at first with other dogs. He wants to play. He is not alpha dog. He has never been around cats. On walks he is reactive in a playful way with passing dogs but will sit when told and wait for other dog to pass. He is fearful to get in the car/truck. Once in, he settles well, no whining or barking. Sometimes steps make him back off but we have all wooden floors he slips. When new people come in he backs off but no barking or aggressive behavior. He settles in, watches then approaches on his own. This guy will make a great playmate for older kids, a great hiking
buddy for those liking that. He has been on hiking trips previously and really enjoyed them.
