Ollie's Story

Meet Ollie: Will Work for Treats !
~18 months old | 12 lbs | Maltese mix | Non-shed | Santa Barbara CA

Ollie is a truly adorable, maltese mix who wants nothing but love from a permanent family. He is playful --loves to chase balls -- but also enjoys a good belly rub and a few daily cuddles. Ollie is happiest with his chew toys and balls. He can play alone but prefers playing with a human friend. He loves children who are gentle and eager to throw the ball to him!

Ollie was found wandering alone in the streets of Palmdale, scrawny, matted and underweight. Now weighing ~12 pounds, his health and self-confidence has come a long way living with his foster family, and his personality is starting to shine!

Ollie loves to meet new people and warms up quickly to them. He is good with other dogs with proper introductions. He is highly treat-motivated which makes training so much easier! He is very loyal and is protective of his people.

Ollie does well in a crate, and sleeps quietly in it throughout the night in his foster mom's bedroom. He wakes up each day happy and eager for rubs and kisses!

He would thrive in a home where he doesn't spend much time alone and with a family who can offer him plenty of attention as he continues to develop self-confidence. He is very intelligent, knows a few commands, is eager-to-please and is making strides in learning to walk confidently and politely on a leash. With a little more practice, he will be a champ! He is not a fan of crowded places, so quiet walks are best for Ollie. He would do well in a home with a small, enclosed yard that he has access to -- he currently needs a short potty breaks every 2-3 hours.

To help him be his absolute best self, Ollie is looking for a structured home that values consistency and clear boundaries. He flourishes when he knows exactly what is expected of him. His ideal forever family will be one that views ongoing training as a fun way to connect and grow together.

Although a little nervous around unknown dogs, it’s possible that with the right match, Ollie would thrive with a canine companion. We do not think he would do well in a home with cats.

Ollie is fully vaccinated, neutered, crate-trained, potty-trained and doesn't shed! If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and active companion to join you on life's adventures, Ollie might just be your perfect match! We are now accepting adoption applications for Ollie https://bichonrescuebrigade.org/adopt/adoption-form/
