My name is Oliver, and I am looking for my forever home. I recently learned what a home is and I love being inside! It’s a fantastic place, indoors, full of couches and cool floors, where I’m not allowed to go to the bathroom. Yes, I am fully house trained!<br/> <br/>I am afraid of thunder and fireworks but hiding quietly in a small dark space makes me feel safe and allows me to self sooth. In my foster home, I am learning how to sit at doors to go in and out of them; it’s hard work, but now I know how to ask when I want to go in or out!<br/> <br/>I recently learned what toys are and I love to roll around and chomp on them. If I ever put something in my mouth that isn't a toy, I hear “No!” and I remember next time not to put that thing in my mouth.<br/> <br/>I love my kennel, but sometimes I’m sad for the first few minutes of being alone. I’d rather go with you! I LOVE car rides and I am a great passenger because I like to lay down in the car and relax.<br/> <br/>I also love to run and wrestle with my foster sister. She barks a lot, but I am very quiet. I only bark when she has a lot to say! It’s rude not to reply! I love meeting new people, even delivery people and strangers, often they try to give me a cookie but I much prefer pets and cuddles. I must have a human that loves to cuddle! My humans want to tell you a few things about me as well!<br/><br/>Oliver is a neutered male, roughly 2-years old, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is fully house trained, walks very well on leash, crates easily, and is generally very quiet and well-mannered. Oliver has made great improvements with obedience during his time in foster care. He knows his name, come, and sit, he takes treats gently and is calm around new people and older children (has not met small children as of yet). Oliver is a mix of German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois topped off with a sprinkle of Dutch Shepherd.<br/> <br/>Oliver bonds quickly with new people and his dream is to spend all of his time in someone’s arms offering gentle kisses and receiving belly rubs. He is as devoted as they come! He has nothing but love to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking to spoil him with the easy life and is looking for an extreme cuddle-bug. <br/> <br/>When Oliver first arrived into foster, he exhibited some resource guarding with HIGH VALUE items but he is improving daily as he comes to understand that a loving home is a house of plenty, with chews and toys for everyone. Oliver is in a foster home with a female dog and doing well, he has played and mingled well with numerous dogs he has been introduced to. However, there have been some random times when he has been dog-selective/reactive to certain male dogs he has just met. So if you are looking for a buddy for your dog, female is preferred.
