Oliver's Story

Oliver is a 2 year old male poodle who came from the north before Christmas and after putting on some weight and being pampered in a wonderful foster home, he's ready to venture out into the big world and find his special family.

Oliver weighs about 10 pounds and has been fostered with an identical looking male poodle who he played with (a lot), and in his current foster home, with 6 big dogs and 5 cats. While this wee guy may be small, he tells the big dogs when they are too close or there are too many of them in his personal space. He ignores the cats but my guess is that he feels more at home with their comparable size.

He loves to be patted, he loved playing with his poodle foster brother and he loves his squeaky toys. He's cuddly and when you come into the room he shows his joy by spinning in circles. While Oliver is a small dog, he definitely loves his walks and whoever adopts him needs to commit to stimulating him both physically (with walks and play) and mentally - he's a poodle after all and they are smart. This guy is no exception - he's smart, engaging, sweet, fun and loving.

Oliver's perfect home is one where someone is home most of the time as he prefers to be near his people. He may or may not enjoy a companion dog, depending on the chemistry between the two of them. The energy of young kids is too much for Oliver and small dogs can get lost in the shuffle of a high energy young family. Oliver is looking to be the centre of someone's world where he can enjoy his two or three leash walks a day, cuddle time on the couch, and someone who enjoys being the highlight of this young guy's day.

Oliver is neutered, vaccinated (core vaccines), dewormed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500. He is currently located in Caledon, ON.

The adoption process includes application (link below), home visit, phone interview, meet & greet, and adoption contract/adoption fee.

If you are interested in applying for Oliver, please re-read his bio to see if you are a good fit and then fill out the online adoption form at ifaw.org/NDadoption. If you match what Oliver is looking for in his forever family, someone will get back to you within a few days of receiving your application.
