Odysseus's Story

Meet Odysseus, or Odie for short.
You'd never guess this big ole puppy has already been through so much, because all he wants to do is play, make friends, and soak up every bit of love he can get!
Odie is about 1 to 1.5 years old and currently weighs in at a whopping 88 pounds! He was found wandering near a boat ramp in Piperton with no microchip, and despite attempts, we've been unable to figure out where this big guy came from or locate his owners.
When he was found, he was covered in ticks, had a few spots of missing hair on his head and ear, and wasn't putting weight on one of his legs. The good news is he's heartworm negative, now neutered, microchipped, and safe!
X-rays showed a growth plate injury, but our veterinarians are optimistic that with a few weeks of medical management, he can heal without surgery and should have no long-term effects. His care has already included exams, X-rays, neuter surgery, vaccines, medications, and ongoing medical management for his leg.
Odie is kid-friendly, dog-friendly, and we're still learning how he feels about cats.
Welcome to the Streetdog family, Odie. We think your next chapter is going to be a good one.
Check out #sdfOdysseus on Facebook or Instagram and streetdogfoundation.com/pup-profiles/odysseus for more information and pictures!
*Behaviors not listed have yet to be tested.
