Odin's Story

As I was walking down the sidewalk, I recognized handsome Odin right away. I called his name, and he looked at me and smiled. I know he'd rather be in a home, but he was happy to see me and excited to join me outside. As always, he headed straight for a toy. It was a giggle ball, and when he nudged it, it giggled and rolled away. Odin was like, "What was that?" It wasn't long before he figured out how to hold on to it and was doing what he loves-chewing on his toy. Odin needs tough chewer dog toys, and the giggle ball as well as a Kong ball held up. I'd throw the Kong ball for him, and he'd run to get it and lie down with it. I'd toss a treat in trade to get the ball and throw again, and it wasn't long before this big boy was tired. Odin's former owner said Odin was too active for them but he's house trained and good with other dogs who are friendly to him. He's not a good match for cats. Odin is a good boy, but he does need regular exercise. Chasing toys in the yard and going for walks are a good way to help him get his energy out, and then he's ready for pets, loving, and entertaining himself with a chew toy.
* * *
Odin is a happy, friendly guy. He's a cute, stocky lowrider who made the most of his time outdoors. He liked chasing a few toys, sitting for lots of treats, and soaking up all the love and pets he could get. The person that brought Odin to the shelter said he gets along very well with kids and other dogs. He's a good-natured buddy!
* * *

You can read more about this dog and check out additional photos here: https://www.accgov.com/9482/Dogs

The adoption fees, shelter schedule, a description of the rescue and adoption process, and a list of included vetting can be found at https://athenspets.net/adoption-rescue-process.

This dog is available for adoption through Athens-Clarke County Animal Services, located at 125 Buddy Christian Way, Athens, GA.
