ODIE ~ ADOPTED!'s Story

Meet our happy, playful, goofy, friendly Heinz 57 mixed breed litter.
This adorable group of 5 is yet another story of an accidental litter turned into a shelter in KY. According to shelter they are estimated to be 8 weeks old as of 5/27. Since we have no information on either parent, their breed is our best guess according to body structure and appearance. A true Heinz 57 for sure. Some possibilities may include hound of some sort (there are many types) lab, wired hair terrier or schnauzer, and the list goes on and on. Their current weight ranges from 12-15 lbs so we believe they will be med to large as adults.

What a fun litter! They are all ready and willing to receive affection in any form from any person willing to offer some.. Of course with all litters, there are many personalities. Some are quiet and always ready for a nap while others are looking to get into the next game. Since they are just babies and learning all about the world they live in, you can expect typical puppy behavior. They will need work in housetraining and you can expect them to chew on everything. We believe with training and consistency they will be molded into a great family companion.

ODIE ~ A live wire and up for just about any game. He is playful and outgoing and is sure to be show stopper with black mask and speckled nose. He falls right in the middle of the pups in size with his current weight at 13 lbs. He has a smooth coat and a much smaller body frame then Tug and Tonka. If you are interested in making ODIE a part of your family please visit our site at www.endingthesadness.org for an application.

As with all of the pups, they have never been on a leash before and will need training to be the perfect family pet. They will need consistency and someone present more often than not to help groom them to be social, have manners, and know the boundaries. If you have the time and the patience to devote to raising training a puppy, please feel free to fill out an application on our site for consideration (www.endingthesadness.org). We can adopt to those who live out of state, but for puppies we limit the drive time to a 2 hr radius only.
Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Unless otherwise indicated, puppies are NOT spayed or neutered since our vet recommends waiting until 6mos of age to do so. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. A reputable rescue will have nothing to hide and will answer ALL your questions!!! Please visit our Web Site to see all of the pets we have for adoption. Our site contains information about our adoption process and fees, our application, and answers to frequently asked questions. Please read it carefully before contacting us. If you are interested in adopting THIS wonderful pet, we strongly encourage you to complete our adoption application now. Once we receive and approve your application, we will notify you of approval. The first application to be received and approved will get 1st choice - be sure that your references are available and willing to speak with us. Thank You
Visit us at one of our next adoption days. Details are on our site under the How to Adopt tab.
Hope to see you there!
