Obsidian's Story
Meet Obsidian - Your Next Adventure Sidekick!
2.5 Years Old Female Mixed Breed Medium Size

Say hello to Obsidian-or Sid, as her friends call her! This stunning, coal-colored beauty is a 2.5-year-old former street dog from Mexico who's left her past behind and is thriving in the Central Oregon lifestyle. She's smart, affectionate, and playful-and she's ready to bring all that joy to her forever home.

Sid is the ultimate mix of fun and snuggles. She's always up for a walk, a hike, or a romp at the dog park, but she'll just as happily curl up next to you at the end of a long day. If you've been dreaming of a loyal sidekick for your outdoor adventures (without the chaos of puppyhood), Sid might just be the one.

Why You'll Love Her:
Great with other dogs

Loves walks, hikes, and exploring

House-trained & doggy-door savvy

Total cuddle bug at heart

Spayed, fully vaccinated, and healthy

Ideal Home:

Obsidian would thrive in a home that can offer her plenty of exercise, space to roam, or an active lifestyle to match her energy. A securely fenced yard would be ideal for zoomies and sunbathing, and she'd love a person (or people!) who enjoy being outside as much as she does.

Once a stray near a slaughterhouse in Mexico, Sid has transformed into a confident, well-rounded companion with so much love to give. She's a testament to resilience and will no doubt make someone an incredibly lucky dog parent.

Think Sid might be your perfect match?

Submit your adoption application through our website today and get the chance to bring her home for a flexible 3-day in-home adoption trial.

Let Obsidian's next chapter begin-with you. TO LEARN MORE, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION ONLINE AND OUR ADOPTION PROGRAM MANAGER WILL REACH OUT TO YOU WITH FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUR YOUR PUP'S CURRENT STATUS (MEDICAL AND ADOPTION AVAILABILITY) AS WELL AS INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MEET YOUR NEW PUP!)

The first step to adopting a dog from SDH is to complete the adoption application. First click on the OUR DOGS tab up above, and then click on the orange colored "Fill out an Adoption Application here" button to start the process). Once submitted, please expect 3-5 business days or sooner for processing and to hear back from us. The adoption fee helps cover some of the expenses related to bringing this pup into our program. On average, per dog, it costs SDH between $500-$700 for vetting/medical/sterilization, transport, food and supplies, and other rescue related expenses. Rescue dogs do not transport to SDH until they are healthy, have been further medically and behaviorally evaluated per our guidelines and are ready to be adopted. All dogs are examined by a veterinarian before they arriving into our program, which includes sterilization, given standard vaccines and rabies (if age appropriate). Most dogs are sterilized before they come into our program depending on our rescue/shelter partner's available resources, however if this is not the case we will spay/neuter them once they arrive with us at our cost.

Once the adoption has been finalized, any further medical care or treatment will not be covered by SDH, unless discussed prior with our medical team. All known issues are disclosed to the best of our ability prior to finalizing the adoption.
