Oboe's Story
Meet Oboe! ! Looking for a chatty, cuddly, weird little soulmate? You've found your match.

Oboe charms absolutely everyone with his squishy face, his permanently crooked lip-to-toof situation, and the way he snoozes so hard you have to check for breathing. He also sings for his supper with the dramatic flair of a starving opera tenor.

Oboe is an excellent cuddler and prefers to be close ~ usually at or directly on foster mom’s feet. He gives occasional kisses and will usually return the favor if you kiss him first. His favorite pastime is snoozing on the couch, but don't be fooled - Oboe is speedy when he wants to be! He enjoys his walks, can do a solid twenty minutes, and once he gets going, he trots along like a determined little raisin with places to be.

Oboe firmly believes all food is for him. Snacks are a must, and even when he's had them, he remains deeply convinced that foster mom must still have a secret supply of food and simply forgot to share it with him (clearly, a clerical error).

A playful little guy, Oboe's favorite toy, Lamby, is a treasured companion - and when he’s finished playing, he settles himself down quietly and drifts into a deep, contented sleep, wrapped in a blanket. Oboe walks well on leash, rides nicely in the car, and is fully house-trained. He will even give you his signature gremlin call to let you know when he has to go. He’s lived with children, cats, and dogs before, and his foster sibling is a bunny! He’s been nothing but kind to everyone he’s met. He would love a home that's generally calm and quiet, and filled with people who love to snuggle and take him on fun adventures.

Like many seniors, Oboe carries the marks of time. He's being treated for Lyme and responding very well, and we suspect he may have hyperthyroidism which will require management via medication. His skin is in rough shape so we're giving him regular medicated baths, which he tolerates with only a little grumbling and a little drama. He loves to be brushed and petted, and while his back legs wobble a bit, he can manage a few stairs but would need help with several. He's been living in an apartment and done very well.

This old man is funny, crusty, sweet, expressive, occasionally aromatic, and completely impossible not to love. He wants companionship, soft blankets, snacks, and someone who thinks a quirky old croissant of a dog is the best thing ever. If that’s you, he’s waiting!

Oboe is approximately 10 years old and 17 lbs.

Fostered in Arlington , VA
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
