Oakleigh's Story

Meet Oakleigh! Oakleigh is one of many dogs we have saved from rural Upson County lately. Being a very small, rural shelter the dogs are only held for a very short stray hold before they are at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully they have a very dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to try to get the dogs to safety before their time runs out Oakleigh is about a year and a half old and 40 lbs - what a great age and size! She was very popular at the shelter and in social media postings trying find rescue placement for her because of her gorgeous coloring but alas that wasn't enough to save her, so RMG stepped in to make sure she would be safe. Oakleigh is great with other dogs in her foster home and has learned that her crate full of soft blankets can be a great place for a comfy afternoon nap. She's very friendly and outgoing and will make one lucky family very happy! Could it be your family? Interested in adopting? Rescue Me Ga Inc's Adoption Policy

We have an application process that we require for any adoption. The application can be found on our website at www.rmgdogs.org - its the first step in our process and required before we set up a time for you to meet the dog you are interested in …. ALL of our dogs are completely vetted - all vaccines - spay or neuter - dewormings - chip - heart worm tested and treated if needed and ready to be loved. WE are foster based which means our dogs are in homes or temporary boarding when we rescue them -- we know their personalities and what would be their best fit! Our dogs come from a rural Georgia shelter and often we take in surrenders from families facing difficult situations….. WE do post many dogs still in need at animal control as well as all who have been saved already that are in foster homes. We do NOT operate a facility where you can visit the dogs unless you contact us to possibly meet one already in a foster

RESCUE ME GEORGIA is a 501c3 non profit rescue group dedicated to saving dogs from a small rural shelter and county outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Since our start November of 2011, we have saved more than 5000 animals in need and have been able to be a part of so many lives changed!
