Oakleigh's Story

FAST FACTS:
*6+ Years Old & 22lbs
* Dog Friendly
* Cat Friendly
* Kid Friendly
* Mostly Potty Trained With Some Accidents
* Crate Trained But CouldHave Free RAM

Meet Oakleigh

Oakleigh is an absolute lover girl with a big heart and a solid dachshund build to match! At 23 pounds, she may not be tiny—but don’t tell her that. She’s fully convinced she’s a lap-sized puppy and will happily prove it by climbing right into your arms for endless kisses and cuddles.

She warms up quickly and once she does, she’s all in. Oakleigh is the definition of a velcro dog—following you from room to room, keeping you company throughout the day, and always wanting to be close to her person. Her favorite place in the world is your lap, soaking up affection and giving just as much in return.

Oakleigh walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys calm strolls by your side. Her energy level is very chill overall, with small bursts of playful energy before she’s ready to settle back in for couch time. She’s just recently started discovering toys, but her true passion will always be her people.

She does well with other dogs and is generally calm and neutral around them, though she would be perfectly content as your one-and-only too. She is mostly potty trained and continuing to perfect her routine. With a little consistency (and maybe some potty pads), she’ll keep improving. She is crate trained but doesn’t necessarily need to be crated. Oakleigh hasn’t been around cats, so her compatibility there is unknown. She also hasn’t been around children yet, but given how gentle and sweet she is, we think she would likely do well.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate best friend who will love you endlessly and happily spend her days by your side, Oakleigh might just be your girl. She is available for adoption and ready to find her forever home.

If interested in adopting me please fill out an application on our website at www.fetchingtailsfoundation.org; please make sure you fill in every required field/question or your submission will not go through. Please note that we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care and our bios are our current observations; we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history and as such breed and age estimates are an educated guess.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS:

*ADOPTION FEE: $375

*Be at least 21 years of age

*Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household

*Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)

*Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date)

*Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation

*Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment

*QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR POLICIES?
