OAKLEE's Story

OAKLEE needs a new home! Not only is she stunning, but is also a great girl.

She does have a few challenging traits that we are certain can be worked through with the right adopter. She would make a great companion to someone who enjoys hiking. She adores her family which includes children ( note - she has known them since she was a puppy).

However, because she is fearful of new people, dogs and situation we do not recommend she be rehomed with children as she will need time to decompress and will need her space initially.

Breed: Shepherd Mix
Gender: Female
Age: DOB: 06-JUN-2022
Weight: 22 kg/48.5 lbs
Neutered/Spayed: Yes
Vaccines UTD: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Kids: No because she is anxious around strangers and will need her space initially. She loves her family, enjoys dog parks and running across open fields. Her favourite game is to play catch with a tennis ball.

OAKLEE was born in Lebanon as one of RDL-C's rescue dogs along with her Mama and siblings. At the time, she was the shyest of all of the puppies, and her name was K.D. All the siblings were originally names after Canadian singers.

She was the most timid of the siblings.

She arrived to Montreal and was adopted as a puppy by a family. She was their first dog. They have had OAKLEE for 2.5 years. OAKLEE is anxious around strange new things and the family has struggled with some of OAKLEE's more challenging traits. Unfortunately, they can no longer keep her and are looking to re-home her.

OAKLEE is a great dog but she also has a strong personality and can be nervous/anxious around new people, new dogs or new situations. She is very affectionate with people she knows but because she is fearful of new people, her reactions appear to be aggressive. She can also display some resource guarding which is why she is fed in her crate.

Personality: Friendly, affectionate, playful, nervous/anxious, fearful, active/energetic, loyal.

OAKLEE would benefit from an experienced adopter who will give her time to decompress (decompression time will be very important to OAKLEE so she can adapt to her new surroundings) and form a bond with her new family. She has done obedience training and her current adopter says she walks nicely on leash, sits, stays and comes when called. She does enjoy dog parks even if reactive to dogs on leash. She loves her crate and will eat and sleep in it.

We know that OAKLEE loves her salmon and beef kibbles. Her favourite toys are a Kong monkey and squirrel toy. She would definitely need a fenced backyard and possibly country living as she does need regular exercise on top of her walks.

OAKLEE is not a social butterfly and would not do well in a household with a lot of family and friends coming in and out of the house.

Ideally, her adopter will have a more quiet but active lifestyle to match this energetic girl. We know her best human is looking for a dog just like her!

She currently lives with her adopter and his family in Montreal.
Meet & Greets will be set up once we receive your application.

Copy and paste the link below in your browser:
To apply for OAKLEE please click on this link:
https://www.rescuedogslebanoncanada.org/available.../oaklee

Or - please email us and we will send you an application:
RescueDogsLebanonCanada@gmail.com

CALL: Cynthia 416-587-8804

We are intouch with all the adopters of her Mama and siblings.
