Oaklee's Story

? Oaklee is back and looking for her forever. ?

A year and a half of life, and already Oaklee’s lived through a storm drain winter with a dead leg, abandonment, fear, and pain. She was posted on Facebook during a cold snap—curled in a storm drain near a park, dragging a lifeless front leg. I had a trap in the truck and wasn’t needed elsewhere, so I went straight there.

Set the trap. Oaklee walked right in.

She barked and snapped and showed us all her fear. But the moment she realized she was safe at the Haven? She melted into the kind of sweet you don’t forget.

A few days later, she had her leg amputated, was spayed, fully vetted, and started healing.

Today, Oaklee is a resilient, stunning honey-colored beauty—maybe pit, maybe boxer, maybe weim—with deep golden eyes and a zest for life. She’s obsessed with water, sunshine, and fetch. She crate-trained like a champ, aced potty training, and plays well with other dogs when introduced properly.

She’s only met one cat, licked her lips but never lunged. The only real quirk she has? She guards her toys with full-on dramatic flair. We're working on it.

Her adoption recently fell through—not because of her, but because life got heavy for her potential adopter. And that’s okay. Because the right person for Oaklee will see her for who she is:

A survivor. A soul full of sunshine and thunder. A once-in-a-storm-drain dog who just needs one person to say: “You’re mine. Forever.”

If that might be you, message us.

#TripawdMagic #ResilientDog #FetchQueen #AdoptDontShop #SurvivorSoul #OakleeStrong #HavenHeals
