Nutmeg is a hurricane survivor puppy rescued from the Virgin Islands looking for her new home here in NorCal. <br/><br/>She is a “Potcake” breed, which is a truly remarkable breed of dogs. The name Potcake is the name given to the dogs of the Islands and it came about from locals feeding the caked remains of the cooking pots to the island’s dogs. As generations have passed, the Potcakes have evolved into a breed which is extremely smart, loyal, loving and beloved by all! They generally grow between 40-50lbs (just slightly smaller than labs) and they are also sometimes referred to as “Coconut Retrievers” <br/><br/>Because of the recent devastating hurricanes, many of these dogs are faced with homelessness from the mass destruction. She mastered her first big journey and is happy to be rescued! <br/> <br/>Nutmeg is approximately 10 weeks old and a very sweet, gentle and mellow girl. She also is super smart, loyal, and loves to please. She plays nicely with other dogs and is good with cats. With her quiet and laid back personality, Nutmeg loves nothing more than to always be with you – to either curl up in your lap and snuggle or join you on walks, bike rides, fetch activities at the beach or any other fun stuff. She is super athletic, housebroken and already leash trained, and is up to date on her puppy shots. She will be microchipped and spayed prior to her adoption.
