Hi I'm Nummy! <br/><br/><p><br/><br/>Hi, I'm Nummy! I know it is an unusual name but one I am sure you will never forget! In fact, I'm a pretty memorable boy too since I am so special. I am an almost two year-old neutered yellow male with striking vanilla and amber highlights. Boy am I handsome! Plus you will not find a more loyal and loving dog and I'm funny too. Everyone laughs when I bark at my reflection on the sliding glass door. I swear it is another dog but it is just me seeing myself. I will watch TV all night with my head in your lap. I will cuddle on the bed so close to you that you will never need blankets in the winter (I weigh about 67 lbs.) and you will barely notice my light snoring.<br/><br/><p><br/><br/>If you are looking for a companion who sticks close to you, that's me. I will follow you everywhere. If you are sitting, I will lay at your feet leaning against you because it reassures me that you are still there. I'm housebroken, good with all dogs and cats, have no fears or phobias and take treats gently. I am fabulous in the car -- settling in the back and falling asleep for the ride. I think besides playing fetch and snuggling, car rides may be my favorite thing!! I might jump and express joy when it's time for some fun activities like a walk in the woods. Because I do get excited, there is a knockdown factor with children younger than five years old so I am probably best placed in a home without such little ones. I do go in my crate when home alone so that I don't get into any mischief - I am still a young one after all.<br/><br/><p><br/><br/>I'm a typical, enthusiastic young Lab who loves to play, swim and enjoy the great outdoors. You would never guess that I am blind in one eye and have a cataract in my other one. I was born that way and I have adapted well to being sight impaired. I will just need some monitoring of my cataract to see if there are any changes over the course of time since I really depend on that eye. Somehow I ended up in the shallow end of the gene pool and in addition to my vision challenges, I have floating kneecaps (luxating patellas). The good news is that maintaining excellent muscle tone forms a kind of cage around my knees which keeps the patellas in place. It's a good thing I love to go on walks and have great leash manners because my new family needs to be committed to walking me every day to keep the muscle in my legs strong and kneecaps stable. I think all dogs should get a nice walk every day anyway -- it's so good for us and it's a bonding experience with the family. I also take an inexpensive generic pain reliever every day that helps me.<br/><br/><p><br/><br/>I'm a survivor and I live each day to the fullest. My spirit and winning personality more than make up for my challenges and if you'll just give me the chance, you will see for yourself how great life can be with me. Just ask my foster mom.
