Nugget's Story

This sweet looking friendly guy is named Nugget. He is a Labrador mix. When you look at him, you automatically think black lab as he has those almond shaped eyes, a lab snout, and of course, short floppy ears. And then there is his short shiny black coat. He is just over 1 year of age and weighs 60 pounds. Little is known about his previous life as he was found as a stray, and a kind soul brought him to a shelter. What is known is that someone at the shelter recognized his potential and saved him so he could have a chance at a forever home. He gets along with the canines, as well as the adults and children. Black labs mixes tend to have a very friendly temperament, and love spending time with people. So, Nugget has the potential to become a devoted family companion. It is unknown if he has lived with a cat. As to training, he is leash trained. It is best to start with a refresher course in crate and house training.Daily exercise will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. He may also enjoy going for hikes. Nugget will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. It will prevent boredom. A secure back yard will give him free time to play and burn off extra energy. If you are looking for a big boy with huge potential, may we suggest applying for Nugget today!* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Nugget is $500.
