Nova's Story
Meet Nova!
This pretty girl is a 2 year old Heeler mix. She’s faced a lot of hardship in her life, but she’s ready for that luck to finally turn around!
Nova was brought to us alongside her mama, Cookie. The pair were dumped together when Nova was just a pup, but thankfully some kind souls took them in and gave them a safe place to land. They were very loved by their family, but after issues of them escaping from the property, their owners were told the dogs had to go. Nova and Cookie do not have to be adopted together, but if you would be interested in a pair, we do offer a discount for adopting two pets at once!
Nova is a very energetic girl, and she would thrive with an active family that can take her on adventures! In her previous home she was around kids and did great with them, and she’s also gotten along with dogs. We have noticed at the shelter that she is very treat motivated, and while she’s had no issues fighting over food with Cookie, we aren’t sure if she would be okay sharing treats with dogs she’s not as close to. It will be important top supervise interactions with other dogs in her new home until you can be sure she has fully adjusted. Nova has attacked a cat in the past, and to ensure future incidents do not occur we will not adopt her to a home with any felines. With her past history of escaping her owner’s property, she will do best in a home with a secure fence that can keep her safely contained.
Nova has received her first round of vaccinations and is ready to finally find her forever home! This girl has a heart of gold and she definitely deserves that happy ending soon. If you think Nova could be the dog for you, come in and meet her today!
