MAMA NOVA — HOW IS THIS GIRL STILL WAITING?!<br/><br/>Nova came to Meraki on what was supposed to be the last day of her life on the OKC euthanasia list — and she wasn’t alone. Seven tiny, 5-week-old nuggets were set to die with her.<br/><br/>I had already said yes to so many dogs in the weeks before. I knew I was pushing it. But then I saw her eyes.<br/><br/>So I said yes one more time.<br/>Nova and her seven little Supernova nuggets came to the Haven, and she was an absolutely amazing mama to those babies. <br/><br/>And once mama duty was over, we got to know Nova.<br/>Bro... this girl is hands down one of the best dogs at the Haven.<br/><br/>She listens. She knows where she belongs and doesn’t wander into places she isn’t supposed to. She loves to run and play, but she’s also become the big sister of the Haven — helping guide some of the younger dogs and showing them the ropes.<br/><br/>And then there’s cuddle Nova. <br/><br/>This girl can curl up in your lap like a giant baby on a restaurant patio, people walking past, life happening all around her, and she could not care less. She’s perfectly content right there with her person.<br/><br/>Bonus points if you have chips. <br/><br/>She does have ONE little character flaw...<br/><br/> SQUIRRELS.<br/><br/>If Nova decides a squirrel needs chasing, a 6-foot wooden fence becomes merely a suggestion. And after her unauthorized adventure? She comes right around to the front door like, “Soooo... you gonna let me back in or what?”<br/><br/>I could write forever about this girl and still not explain what makes Nova so special.<br/>She was almost never given the chance to raise those babies.<br/><br/>Now she deserves the chance to finally be somebody’s baby herself. <br/><br/>Nova is still waiting. A handful of her Supernova Krew are still waiting too.<br/><br/>Maybe tonight’s the night we throw one more wish at the universe that her person finally sees her.<br/><br/>Please share Mama Nova.
