Nova's Story

Hi, I’m Nova!

I’m an approximately 8-year-old German Shepherd weighing about 110 lbs, and I’m looking for a forever family who will help me enjoy my golden years filled with love, comfort, and plenty of attention!

I came to Mississauga Animal Services as a stray, but sadly, no one came to claim me. Now, I’m hoping to find a family who will give me a cozy place to call home and show me just how wonderful life can be! I may be a senior girl, but don’t let my age fool you — I still have plenty of zest for life and lots of love to give!

One of my favourite things is getting attention from my people! I’d love a home where I can enjoy all the creature comforts a girl my age deserves, from a comfy place to snooze to plenty of affection and quality time with my favourite humans. I’m ready to settle into a loving home where I can feel safe, cherished, and truly part of the family.

When it comes to meeting other dogs, I’ve been fairly indifferent at the shelter. I’ll usually just walk right by them without much fuss! That said, I’d likely be happiest as the only dog in the home, where I can enjoy a little peace and quiet and have all the love and attention to myself.

I should mention that I’m a big, strong girl, and I can pull on leash when we’re out for our walks. I’ll need a confident, strong handler who can safely manage me and help make our daily strolls enjoyable. A home with older children aged 14 and up would be ideal, and I’ll need a home without small pets.

I’m spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and fully vaccinated through the shelter, and I’m currently waiting for my dental care!

I know I may not be a tiny puppy anymore, but I still have so much life to enjoy and so much love left to give. I’m looking for someone who sees how special senior dogs can be and wants to give a gentle giant like me the chance to spend her golden years surrounded by kindness, comfort, and companionship.

Think we might be the perfect match? I’d love to meet you! Maybe you’re the person who will give me the soft place to land and the forever home I’ve been waiting for.

Please contact Mississauga Animal Services at (905) 896-5864, option 3, to book an appointment and come say hello!
