Nora's Story

Nora is an almost five-year-old, 34 lb, mixed breed dog from Puerto Rico. An unfortunate accident left her without a rear leg. However, this does not slow her down, and she is amazingly active with a healthy zest for life and adventure! Nora is sweet, smart, and wants nothing more than to be with her people. However, her trust will need to be earned –patience, time, and understanding goes a long way with this sensitive gal. She is very loving and has a silly side, but needs to feel secure enough with her people and environment to show it. Nora is great with other dogs, having lived with a variety of dogs over her time with us, but prefers not to live with cats. She is a major foodie, which means she is treat motivated and enjoys training. She has her basic obedience down, but is still working on perfecting her loose leash walking abilities. She has been working on her confidence with strangers and handling to make her more relaxed at a vet office. Recently she has learned to use a scratchboard in order to file her own nails! One of the coolest features about Nora are her ears! They are so expressive – you’ll always know what she is thinking. Her tail also almost never stops wagging. If you want a happy and faithful companion, look no further than Nora! Whether it be a snooze and belly rubs on the couch, once she has fully settled in and trust is built, riding in the car, or going on a short hike, Nora would make a great addition to your family!* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Nora is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
