Nora's Story

Meet Nora, a gentle old soul with a heart full of love. At an estimated 7–9 years old, she’s the perfect blend of mellow, affectionate, and sweet — and she’s ready to find a soft place to land for her golden years.

Nora can be hesitant with men and definitely prefers women. She can live in a home with a man, but she cannot be placed in a men-only household. Somewhere in her past, a man wasn’t kind to her and she still gets nervous around certain things (camo and hats especially). With patience and reassurance, she does warm up.

She is wonderful with respectful kids and gets along well with other dogs. We’re unsure about cats, but with her gentle demeanor, we don’t anticipate issues.

Like most dogs, Nora thrives on routine and feels safest when she knows what to expect. She does have some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. If she needs to be left alone for a few hours, having a friendly dog companion greatly helps ease her anxiety. She cannot be kenneled, but she is not destructive — she simply prefers to be close to her people.

Her favorite activities include sunbathing, cuddling, and burrowing into a cozy blanket. She is mostly potty trained and will continue to succeed with a consistent routine. She also loves being outside, so a home with a backyard is a must.

Every day, more of her personality shines as she settles into her foster home, and she’s blossoming into the sweetest companion.

Nora was recently spayed and had mammary masses removed — all benign. She has a dental scheduled for early December and will be ready for her retirement home shortly after. She is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

She is currently being fostered in Herriman.
