PLEASE COMPLETE OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION INSTEAD*

Meet Precious Noodles-Pennsylvania, a 4-year-old female Mini Goldendoodle, who is in an IDOG foster home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Noodles is an incredibly sweet girl who loves her person more than anything in the world. She can't wait for belly rubs in a forever home! If you want a work-from-home BFF or perfect walking pal, she's your gal!

Please read ALL the information in Noodles' listing before applying to ensure you understand what she needs to be successful in her new home.

*Please complete our adoption application at http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application (copy/paste URL into your browser).

*If you completed an adoption application in the last 6 months & would like for your application to be considered for Noodles, please email us at rescue@idogdoodlerescue.org.

*You must complete our adoption application fully. If you choose not to answer all the questions in the application, your application will not be considered. We will review your application & email you if you made our short list of applicants for her. Please respond within 24 hours if you receive an email from us about making our short list.

*You can check the status of her adoption at https://www.idogrescue.com/adopt or any of our social media pages. We will change her status to adopted when she is adopted.

*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety and welfare of our dogs. We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for. We do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.

*You must be approved to adopt her before we will schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs.

*AGE: 4 years old (born October 2021)

*WEIGHT: 19 pounds

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence and a yard are required. She requires daily exercise and LOVES DAILY WALKS. She is perfect on leash and stays right by you without any pulling. No shock collars or invisible fences will be considered, as we do not feel these would set her up for success.

*COAT TYPE: Curly low-shedding coat. Adopter should be prepared to do daily brushing (her hair mats easily) and have her groomed regularly every 6-8 weeks with an estimated cost of $100/groom.

*ENERGY LEVEL: Noodles has a medium energy level, and she also settles well at home. She has anxiety that can express itself as excessive barking in the home. She is cautious/initially tentative meeting new people and new dogs. But, she really does well with new dogs. She loves to cuddle and take naps with her foster dog sister.

*DOGS: Noodles is happy and initially reserved when meeting other dogs. Noodles has liked every dog she's met. While she hasn’t yet played with other dogs, she clearly loves their company and seeks it out. We think she would love to have a doggy friend in her new home to keep her company although we don't think she will play much; she will snuggle though with the dog in her foster home.

*CATS: Unknown; she has had no exposure to cats in her foster home.

*KIDS: Noodles has been very anxious around the foster’s son, who is 14 years old. She barks a lot at him and it’s difficult to calm her down. She has not been aggressive with him; her barking is due to fear/anxiety. Her previous family indicated that they rescued Noodles from an abusive situation, so her anxiety is not surprising. We think she would be happiest in an adult-only home without children to keep her anxiety level down.

*CAR: Noodles has done well in the car. She usually just lays down.

*CRATE: Noodles has. on some nights slept in a crate at night without issue. On other nights, she prefers to sleep on a bed on the floor near her foster parents. There are times when she is put in a crate and she will cry or whine. The foster family thinks that Noodles’ aversion is due to separation anxiety and not a dislike of the crate because Noodles has found comfort in the crate at certain times.

*HOUSE TRAINED: Yes; she is fully house trained. However, if she gets really anxious and has not been out to potty in more than 4 hours, she can have an accident. Her foster family thinks accidents are due to her anxiety and not to her lack of house training. These accidents have been rare, no more than once per week (and all linked to high anxiety events mixed with a long time without relief).

*LEASH: Noodles does excellent on the leash. She loves to go on walks and checks in with her walker and will sit on command. She has never pulled. While her foster would never let her off leash in an open area, Noodles has almost perfect recall when she hears her voice. She is eager to please her family, and will likely do really well with additional training.

*AT VET CLINIC: Did well. Was cautious, but did not bark.

*WITH GROOMING: She was anxious when she arrived, but the groomer said she did really well during her grooming.

Noodles is an adorable 4 year old female Mini Goldendoodle who weighs 19 lbs. Noodles was surrendered to IDOG from owners who loved her but could no longer care for her after a change in circumstances.

Here is what Noodles' foster family has to say about her:

Noodles is an incredibly sweet dog who wants to be with her person all the time. Noodles adores being around her people and is happiest when cuddling with her human friends whenever possible. Noodles loves to lay her head in your lap, and soulfully stare into your eyes. If you have to do something else, she's content to sit nearby and take a nap.

Noodles’ favorite activity is walking. Noodles can walk for miles without ever leaving her person’s side. She never tugs and stays right next to her walker’s side the entire time. Honestly, it’s amazing to see.

Noodles likes other dogs once she has a meet and greet. She would do best with dogs with calm energy levels. She formerly lived with another dog. In her foster home, she spends time with her foster sister (Standard Poodle) Hazel and sometimes they snuggle together. In her new home, I think Noodles would appreciate having another dog to snuggle with.

Because Noodles has had anxiety around our son and also strangers, we feel she would do best in a family without children.

Noodles can be described as:
*Loving
*Attentive
*Anxious and fearful
*Vocal (barking)
*Smart
*Curious
*Cautious then Friendly
*Affectionate

She enjoys:
-being with her humans
-chewing bones
-sleuthing out food puzzles
-walking and hiking and climbing
-pleasing her humans and learning new tricks.

Noodles loves to be around people so much, and she gets anxious if she's left alone. If she can't see her humans, she will chew through a cloth crate to get to them (we learned that from experience). When left alone, she'll cry. Mostly it's upsetting to her when humans are around and she can't be with them. When she's home alone, she needs to be kept in a safe space. Noodles is a very curious dog, and will investigate everything in the home.

While Noodles is great at "sit" and is quickly picking up other commands, she will benefit from additional training and structure to help with house manners and keep her mind active. She is food-motivated and eager to please, so will likely pick things up well. She has had no problem with any resource guarding in her foster home, even when her foster sister Hazel is nearby.

Noodles does well at the vet, and greets the experience with anxiety and some amount of curiosity. Her new family should brush her daily to make sure her beautiful coat stays tangle-free. She did come in with some allergies/itchy skin; we changed her food away from a chicken-based one and she is doing much better.

Noodles is spayed, microchipped, and current on core vaccines. Her fecal and heartworm tests were negative and she is on heartworm/flea/tick preventives.

ADOPTION FEE: $450 adoption fee

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:
Puppies and highly adoptable dogs have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are very high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board and train costs, medical/health issues and surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees and our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.

TO APPLY FOR Noodles-Pennsylvania, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application
