Nona's Story

Meet Nona Some dogs don't need much time to show you what they're made of. Nona is one of those dogs. This beautiful reddish-brown Australian Cattle Dog mix is about 2 years old, weighs a petite 30 - 35 pounds, and has the sweetest combination of intelligence, affection and attentiveness. But what really sets Nona apart is how easy and loving she is.

Nona can be a little timid when meeting someone new, but give her a little attention, encouragement and praise, and she warms up quickly. She is affectionate, eager to please and happiest when she's getting a little love and making you proud.

Nona is also wonderfully easy to live with. She loves going for walks and is a great little walking companion. She doesn't bark at people passing by, is curious about her surroundings and enjoys meeting other dogs without feeling the need to greet every single one. She's perfectly happy to mind her own business and enjoy the outing with her person.

She is comfortable living with other dogs and currently shares her foster home with a middle-aged male Lab, but Nona doesn't need another dog to be happy.

It's been wonderful watching Nona discover what it's like to be loved and cared for. She came from a life where she was living outdoors on her own, and she's learning that life can be very different. A soft bed, a loving family, a warm home and someone who thinks she's pretty special? Turns out Nona is a big fan of all of it.

At home, Nona is house trained, walks beautifully on leash and is wonderfully well behaved. In fact, when her foster mom is away, Nona's favorite place to nap is right on the bed. And yes, she's absolutely earned those bed privileges!

If you're looking for a loving, loyal and easygoing companion who will happily walk beside you, curl up next to you and make you feel like her favorite person in the world, Nona would love to meet you.

A Note About Nona's Heartworm Treatment Nona has tested heartworm positive, but this is absolutely treatable, and Circle 2 Rescue will cover the cost of her heartworm treatment. Her treatment will involve approximately three veterinary appointments, currently planned for November 22, December 22 and December 23 (dates may be adjusted slightly if need be).

Her adopter will not be responsible for the cost of this treatment. We simply want Nona to have a wonderful home to recover in while she completes her treatment and gets ready for her heartworm-free future.

Interested in adopting Nona?
