During this survival time, Nollie developed some aggression toward her housemate and we are assessing whether she should be an only. Despite this horrible abuse, Nollie has been loving and very sweet with our volunteers and soaking in all the positive attention. She rides great in a crate. She will be spayed and receive a gastropexy as soon as medically indicated by our vet team. While Nollie is not available for adoption at this time, WRS has lots of great dogs who are. Weimaraner Rescue of the South's Adoption Policy

Weimaraner Rescue of the South is a strong advocate of responsible pet ownership, which includes and is not limited to: 1. Consistent history of preventative care, including monthly heartworm prevention and annual wellness exams, vaccinations, heartworm tests. 2. All current pets are spayed or neutered. 3. WRS rarely places dogs into homes without a structurally fenced yard. We do not consider "invisible fences" to be a suitable substitution. Any person/persons applying to adopt who does not meet the responsible pet ownership requirements set forth by WRS will have their application denied. Each dog offered for adoption has been spayed or neutered, is current on all shots, has been heartworm tested and is on heartworm preventative. WRS will make recommendations of dogs who match the applicant's lifestyle, home environment, activity level, etc. We will not place a particular dog in a home if we feel it is not a suitable fit. Adult dogs - $425 Puppies younger than 6 months - $500+ $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit Senior dogs (age 9+) - $350 Effective 7/26/2023, WRS has put into place a policy where we will be doing prophylactic gastropexies when any of our rescues are being either spayed or neutered. Gastropexies are the only proven way to reduce the risk of GDV (bloat) in dogs, which is oftentimes fatal. Because this is a significant additional surgical expense, we will be implementing an additional fee of $150 to our standard adoption fees for any dog who receives a gastropexy.
