Unbelievably, her owner left her outside to suffer with a comminuted open fracture . Despite unimaginable pain, she remained gentle and trusting, quietly waiting for someone to notice she needed help.<br/><br/>That help finally came. Noel has now had surgical repair of her injured leg and is recovering beautifully.<br/><br/>She is healing exactly as hoped—though keeping her calm during recovery is no small task. :-)<br/><br/>Beneath the stitches and crate rest is a young, energetic girl who is very much ready to run, play, and live the life she was once denied.<br/><br/>What stands out most about Noel is her heart. She is incredibly affectionate, soft and loving, and wants to be close to her people. She bonds quickly and deeply, soaking up kindness as if she’s making up for lost time.<br/><br/>Estimated to be 18 months to 2 years old, Noel is a stunning solid black German Shepherd mix. When she was found, she weighed only 40 pounds, her body reflecting the neglect she endured. With proper care and good nutrition, she is now 49 pounds and steadily gaining, with a healthy goal weight of 55–60 pounds.<br/><br/>Noel will be ready for her forever home soon—a home that understands her past, supports her continued healing, and promises her the safety, love, and lifelong commitment she has always deserved.<br/><br/>She has survived the worst.
