Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized

More about Niven:
Housebroken: Yes!
Crate trained: He has done well with free roam when home alone, which he prefers to being crated.
Leash walking: He loves walks but he can be reactive and pull, and would do best in a lower-traffic neighborhood. He has been working on this with his foster, and has been making a lot of progress! His adopter will be offered a free spot in our virtual leash reactivity training class!
Dog social: He has lived successfully with other calm and tolerant dogs, but he may be selective with some dogs.
Cat social: Unknown, but he has shown prey drive toward small critters on walks
Kid friendly: He would do best in an adults-only home, due to resource guarding behaviors and some body sensitivity

Niven likes:
- Napping with (or ideally, on) his person
- Going for walks in quiet areas
- Playing tug or fetch

Niven is SO sweet and loves his humans so hard, and the spot he most wants to be is curled up on your lap with blankets. He is also one of the funniest dogs you'll ever met. Niven jumps with the stealth of a gazelle - on beds, couches, chairs, and directly into your arms when you come home, even if you've only been gone 10 minutes. Niven loves hiding places. He is a blanket extraordinaire and will also curl up in laundry baskets. He thrives with structure and a routine, and will do best with someone who can provide him with a calm, and consistent environment. Niven is very sensitive to outside noises (i.e. doors slamming, loud voices in hallways, etc.) and will need to live in a single family home in a quiet neighborhood.

Niven has been taking behavior support medication to aid in his training goals.

Niven's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous supporter, and he is ready to love on his forever person!

Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/

*** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***
