NINA's Story

Nina is an absolute sweetheart with just the right splash of goofball charm. This affectionate girl adores people and wants nothing more than to be right by her humans’ side — preferably snuggled under the covers with you at night. Her energy level is a happy medium. Nina is a certified cuddle bug who loves lounging with her favorite squeaky toys, but she also enjoys letting loose with some joyful zoomies in the yard when the mood strikes.
Nina is truly an open book — she welcomes pets from everyone she meets and has been wonderful with all kinds of humans, including kids. She just asks for a calm, proper introduction, and within moments she’s ready for all the love, kisses, and legendary butt scratches. She’s even great at the vet! Nail trims mostly involve Nina trying to smother you with kisses.

This smart girl already knows sit, takes treats gently, and is fully crate trained and potty trained. She’s earned free roam privileges in her foster home and does beautifully — napping in her crate when she wants, minding her own business, and staying out of trouble like the angel she is.

Nina would do best as a solo pup. She tends to see cats as something to chase, and while she gets excited seeing other dogs, she struggles with reading their cues and can become overwhelmed once play begins. With training, she may improve, but for now she’d shine brightest as the one-and-only furry love of your life.

Nina is also a survivor. After enduring an incredibly serious medical journey — including surgery, blood transfusions, and hospitalization — she came out the other side stronger than ever. She is a true fighter with a heart full of love and resilience. Nina wins over everyone she meets with her goofy personality, endless affection, and unwavering devotion. She promises a lifetime of laughs, snuggles, and unconditional love to the family lucky enough to call her their own.

This animal is staying in a foster home and is not at the shelter. Please put in an inquiry and an adoption counselor will contact you with the next steps.

Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.
