Nina's Story

Nina is the total package wrapped in a sleek, sweet, snuggly pup!

Nina was turned into the shelter as a stray. The shelter was a really hard place for her. The loud noises and overwhelming sensory overload made it a really scary place for her. Luckily, when the shelter's AC broke down, she went into a loving foster home, and she is now thriving and winning hearts left and right. She’s gentle, loving, and playful, with a soft spot for people of all ages. She takes treats super softly, almost like she is giving you a light kiss while doing so. Whether she’s cuddling with her foster family, playing politely with their dog, or soaking up attention from a crowd of neighbors, Nina is all tail wags and charm. She’s even been a perfect guest around cats and a big dog she just met — calm, respectful, and easygoing.

This lovely 10 month old, 40lbs pup is great on a leash (no pulling here!) and loves to stay close, earning her the nickname “my little shadow.” She can be a touch wary of sudden noises or fast movements, or approached over her head, but it hasn’t slowed her down one bit.

With her graceful build and impressive speed, Nina may have a bit of greyhound in her — she certainly runs like one! But more importantly, she’s a kind, affectionate soul who’s ready to be someone’s best friend. Nina's ideal home is one with another dog that she can play with and mentor her as she continues to build her confidence. Nina loves to snuggle and has come to enjoy the luxury of living in a loving home, so she would do best in a home that returns the affection and allows dogs on furniture.

Nina is more than just a foster dog — she’s unforgettable. If you live in MD/DC/NoVa and wish you welcome this sweet gem into your family, please submit an application for Nina on our website at www.foreverchangedar.org/adopt-a-pet to begin the process.
