Nikki & Dre~ADOPTED~

NIKKI AND DRE HAVE FOUND THEIR FOREVER HOME... THANK YOU DIANE FOR GIVING THEM A NEW LIFE BUT ESPECIALLY FOR GIVING THEM A HOME TOGETHER... NOT ONLY DOES IT MEAN THE WORLD TO ME BUT TO THEM AS WELL... I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO SEE THE BOND THEY SHARE...<br/><br/><br/>A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED IN ANY WAY TO HELP GET NIKKI &amp; DRE THEIR NEW WHEELS ~ THEY ARE ADJUSTING WELL AND SHOULD BE OUT 4 WHEELIN' AS SOON AS THE SNOW MELTS!!!<br/> Nikki and Dre are brother and sister and such amazing little pups with incredible personalities ~ They are 2 of the happiest playful little pups I have ever met and are now about 11 months old... ~ They were diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia at about 6 weeks of age and are ready to be fitted for quad carts to help them get around easier ~ The cost of the carts are about $900 for each one so we are asking for donations to help off set the expense... if you would like to donate it can be easily done via the link on our Facebook page, going to Paypal.com and donating using the rescue-me@earthlink.net email, or mailing a check to NJPR, P.O. We are going to try and get some videos taken soon... they have come so far and are doing much better now that they are grown and their muscles are getting stronger. Dre is now climbing out of the kiddie pool to go to the bathroom so once he has his cart there will be no stopping him from being housebroken. Nikki is a little shorter and can't quite make the jump but she too knows &quot;where to go&quot; so her cart will aid her tremendously! They can push up on all four legs and stand for a little while deciding which way to go first. They can pretty much get where they want to go now, it just takes a little longer :) Although they require help from a human caretaker they can eat and drink on their own and are very eager to become more independent but also love to hang out and play with their toys or watch TV with you.<br/><br/>Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a condition that occurs when the cerebellum is underdeveloped. The cause can be genetic (hereditary) or extrinsic such as infections, toxins or nutritional deficiencies. The symptoms typically show up around 4-6 weeks when the puppies begin to walk. They will always wobble or appear a little spastic as their motor skills are never going to be fine tuned but they will go on to live full and happy lives with the right special forever home!
