Nikki's Story
Nikki has quietly become our longest resident here at Cheboygan County Humane Society, and we think it’s time her story is shared again — gently, and with hope.

Born on 4/22/2017, Nikki is a retired Mountain Cur who is ready for a slower, more peaceful chapter of life. She’s past the busy puppy years and has settled into the kind of dog who simply wants to be close to her people and feel safe, loved, and at home.

There’s something really special about Nikki. She doesn’t ask for much — just a soft place to rest, kind voices, and someone to sit beside. She leans into affection in the sweetest way, soaking up every moment of attention like it truly means everything… because to her, it does.

Nikki bonds deeply with her people and would do best in a calm home where she can relax and just be someone’s companion. After spending so much time waiting, she deserves that kind of peace more than ever.

Nikki’s Details:
• Born 4/22/2017
• Spayed
• Up to date on vaccinations
• Microchipped
• Affectionate, loyal, and people-focused
• Best in a home without cats

Nikki has been patient. She’s been gentle. And she’s been waiting far too long for someone to see her for the wonderful dog she is.

If you feel a connection to Nikki, we’d love for you to apply (link below). Her next chapter is out there — we just need the right person to help her begin.
